I can’t stop eating grits. What the fuck is up my ass?

Grits are my friend. It’s impossible to pass.

Pass up, that is..grits don’t make me pass gas.

I literally have eaten them every day.

I know what youre saying…”fuck you, Ayo…no fucking way.”.

The packages of instant arent gonna cut in anymore. I need to buy in bulk.

I need enough fucking grits to stuff…the incredible hulk.

I mis a packet of the cheese, and packet of the country ham…

I add some butter to the boil, and FUCKIN BAM….

God Damn.

Grits are good. Good for you. Grits are good for you and me.

When you eat grits your hominy mind gets set free.

Again, I write on a Saturday morning.

I was a party pooper last night for NY eve, and crashed before the ball dropped.

I had just finished what amounted to over 73 hours on the clock, trying to catch up on some extra expenses from December.

Well, I did it. It kicked my ass, and I spent the evening at home with my mini-me, turning him onto Spinal Tap, and creating us a pretty amaze-o chicken/jalapeno boboli pizza. I ate too fast, then drank too much water trying to wash it down, and I ended up with what felt like a HUGE water balloon full of wet paste in my tummy. I couldnt move, so I went to bed.

I WAS going to commence my very own personal ball-drop….naked, into my bathtub. Maybe today.

Anyway…HAPPY FUCKIN’ NEW YEAR FROM FUCKIN’ AYO!

Im thankful for a new year..2010 was a tough one, for a lot of us. The best thing that happened to me in 2010, really…were new work opportunities, and an amazing 2 week trip in a passenger van with the Bang Bangs. We have so much great video footage from that trip to still share….count on it being a part of our brand new, rebuilt website (one of the many things Im looking fwd to this year). Apart from that, there were a lot of hard lessons in 2010: loss, uncertainty, distance and confusion, and gas. Both kinds…the expensive kind and the kind that pisses off your co-workers.

Things Im looking forward to in ’11:

-A new Scary Cherry/Bang Bangs record. Final stages, except for one song, which were going back in to record very soon.

-Performing with three different bands in the first three months of the new year! Two are side-interests..I’ll always be a bangbang, first and foremost. All have amazingly talented female singers! I see a pattern here.

-Some new pieces of drum gear for me….this is crucial…so I’m excited to see it happen.

-A new vehicle for me!! Mine has 197,000 miles on it, just like my drum gear. No choice, I have to do this..so Im looking fwd to it.

-Watching my son grow, especially as a musician. I’m pretty sure he will be making his live performance debut very soon as well.

-Watching this band grow as musicians. I feel that, despite how incredibly far we’ve come in 3 years, that we are just mining the surface, and this year will really bring out all-things-bang to a baller new level.

-A new site at scarycherry.com! Don’t let  Tony’s earlier words fool you..when it comes to REBUILDING THINGS…he’s like a mad scientist.

AM I really up at 8am on NY day? Gah, what is wrong with me…….
