Being an indie band you thrive on the insider fans who support the work you do from
promoting your music to their friends, buying your albums and making sure they
check you out when you pop over for a gig in their city.

left, right, up and down and once you click on an image of  a band, the
magic unfolds before your eyes.

The music starts to play and it is here where aural happiness takes place. Once you make
that connection with the newly discovered artist, you get to learn about them
through key engaging elements. First, you get a high resolution photo of the
band or artist. Then you get clear facts about the musician as you are
listening to their song via pop up clouds that help you better understand the
musician.

Since we live in a social and connected world, Aweditorium helps you promote your new
discovered artist with friends on Facebook and Twitter. You also get to see
video interviews that are on Youtube about the musician and if you really love
what you’re hearing you can buy the song via iTunes as well as find more
available songs on the app by the musician.

It really is an awesome app and engaging experience for music lovers.

So, it appears that Spotify is something of a big deal, and I think we have all heard that it’s not a great deal for bands. For the price of admission (read: nothing, really), the label tends to get the vast majority of the money, and the revenue is somewhat ridiculous. Lady Gaga had only made a few hundred dollars last time someone checked, so it seems unlikely that smaller music acts will see any benefit in signing up.

The best thing about Spotify is the universal accessibility of music to curious users who will see, for example, Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs pop up in the “related artists” section of a band that are categorized similarly to us. This means that there’s more chance of someone stumbling across our epic tunes and of course, being able to link to them and share them with Facebook friends via the integration of that particular social network helps our listener base grow even more.

The lowdown is essentially this – if you want people to happen across your band, you ensure that you’re on as many music sites as possible. It’s basic marketing, and although Spotify’s a far cry from a potential revenue stream, everyone from the odd Cheeky Bingo player in search of the perfect gaming playlist to record label scouts can track down your works of musical art and offer you some big ones for your trouble.

The Internet’s definitely where the music industry is headed – digital sales are up, physical sales are down, and most people tend to find new tunes by surfing the web or using Spotify, Last.fm or Pandora So it’s up to us and other bands to jump on the, well, the bandwagon, and offer their musical output to anyone who likes to listen to good tunes they may not know about via conventional channels… yet.

That’s very refreshing to hear. These pro mixer guys hear a lot of songs and aren’t easily impressed.

As much as I don’t want to come back to Texas until I am fluent in spanish and fluent in surfing, it looks like I’ll be hopping on a 60 ton angel in a few days heading back to home base. “First class, petty cash, sittin next to Vannah White, come on”

Well I guess the band is finished, the world is ending so I hear. If this is true, I leave my silver les paul to Minx, my basses to Meatpie, and the rest of my guitars to my brother….. of wait, we’ll all be dead so it doesn’t matter.
Actually, I think we are supposed to bear hellish disasters for a while before the end. Sounds like a good time!

It may not seem like we have been up to much lately, but we have even more new songs ready to send to post production! I will leak some into the backstage area of scarycherry.com soon, maybe today even…

We’ll all be hanging out tonight, coming in and out of BLACK SWAN SALOON in Deep Ellum (downtown Dallas), and giving away some FREE TICKETS to above mentioned festivus, socializing with one another and our friends/fans, and indulging on Black Swan’s new SCARY CHERRY SHOTS at the bar.

We’ll also be venturing down the street to watch our friends THE RAZORBLADE DOLLS get honored with their likeness being added to the Curtain Club wall.

Things have been slow around camp lately. Everyone is busy making a living and shit and it’s hard to work on new stuff. Even I have been working a bunch lately. Fixing computers and websites. I hate it, but it pays too well to say no.

I need a change in life soon. I hoped to go to costa rica for a month and learn Spanish, but the tax man had other ideas. It seems my to-do list keeps growing and I can’t stay in top of it.

I need to find some healthy friends. Today I heard there was some kind of adventure race where thousands of heLthy people got together and had fun. Too bad i heard about it after it was over That’s the kinda stuff I want to get into. I wanna find some people that like to challenge their bodies instead of their livers.

I have another big problem now. I have a old house that I rent out. It old and falling apart, but the tenant wants to fix everything. That’s cool, but it takes him a year to get anything done. The kitchen and bathroom are torn out and have been that way for over a year. He wants to buy the house from me. I would LOVE to sell it, but he can’t get a loan with the house torn apart.
Yesterday he called me to let me know he was in a car wreck and broke his back and legs.
Now he can’t work and he’s disabled for at least several months. He’s a cool guy and I am concerned for his well being, but now I am also concerned for mine! I just assuming he won’t be able to pay rent, hopefully I am wrong!!! At least hes a cool guy and we are friends.
There are lots of problems that can arise in real estate and I think I’ve dealt with almost all of them.

Well it was nice to bitch.

I’m off to build a wheelchair ramp.
